Hi and welcome, I’m Danielle, a qualified integrative counsellor.
If you’ve found your way here, you maybe feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed. Possibly caught in cycles of overthinking or self doubt. Struggling with low self esteem, boundaries or self sabotaging behaviours. You might be navigating relationship difficulties, loss, life transitions, or that persistent feeling that something isn’t quite right.
You don’t need to be in crisis to come to counselling, but if something is affecting your wellbeing, that’s enough.
How I work
I work from my cosy therapy room in Cheadle Hulme. My approach is Person Centred therapy. I offer a warm, calm, non-judgmental space where you can talk openly and honestly, at your own pace. I believe that trust in the counselling room is so important for therapeutic change to happen. I understand that trust takes time, especially if you have been let down in the past. I will support you every step of the way, regularly reviewing the sessions and inviting you to reflect on what has been useful. This feedback helps to shape the direction of therapy together, ensuring that it stays relevant to your therapeutic hopes and goals.
I also draw on Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) where it feels helpful. This can be particularly supportive if you’re dealing with anxiety, depression, stress or a harsh inner critic. Together, we can explore the connection between thoughts, feelings and behaviours and identify negative thought patterns. You will learn practical tools to challenge your thinking and develop more positive reactions to life’s challenges. Some sessions are reflective and others are more practical and focused. We decide together what feels the most useful for you.
Counselling is about creating a space to understand yourself with compassion and clarity and to make positive realistic changes.
A little about me
I am a registered counsellor with the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) working in line with their Ethical Framework and codes of practice.
I value warmth, honesty and being human in the therapy room. As I believe counselling works best when it feels like a real conversation, not overly clinical and not full of jargon.
